On the occasion of World Earth Day, the Municipality of Mafra and APERCIM - Associação para a Educação e Reabilitação de Cidadãos Inadaptados de Mafra (Association for the Education and Rehabilitation of Disabled Citizens of Mafra) organised a plogging event at Praia dos Pescadores - Ericeira, a location chosen by users of APERCIM's Occupational Activities Centre (CAO).

 

A total of 5kg of waste was collected, most of it plastic. At the end, the "Marine Litter Measurement" was carried out, according to the methodology proposed by the Blue Flag Association for the Environment and Education - ABAAE, and the site was labelled a "clean beach".

This activity is part of SDGs #4; #10; #11; #12; #13; #15; #17, and is part of the 4th edition of the Plogging Challenge Portugal, with the support of the Oceano Azul Foundation and the Blue Flag Association for the Environment and Education - ABAAE.
