The Municipality of Mafra has joined the network of Nautical Stations in Portugal.

The Ericeira Nautical Station was certified by Fórum Oceano - Associação da Economia do Mar, the public organisation that manages the Portuguese Sea cluster, on the occasion of the 3rd Meeting of the Portuguese Nautical Stations Network.

At the session, which was attended by the Secretary of State for Tourism, Pedro Machado, the Municipality of Mafra was represented by Councillor Pedro Carmo Silva, who spoke on the panel "Nautical Resorts and Local and Regional Development".

This network brings together a number of relevant organisations with the aim of boosting the nautical tourism sector in Portugal. In this context, the aim is to increase the experience of tourists and/or visitors associated with nautical activities, benefiting from the joint promotion of tourism products at international level.
