Today, the Municipality of Mafra and the Portuguese Army signed a Collaboration Protocol for the shared use of the "Auditorium of the Seven Altars", located in the Royal Building of Mafra and under the management of the School of Arms. The protocol also provides for the rehabilitation, with funding from the local authority, of this cultural space, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage monument and which will have a future capacity of around 300 seats.

With this conservation work, technical, safety and comfort conditions will be ensured, not only for the development of training and command activities arising from the mission assigned to the School of Arms, but also for its use by the Municipality of Mafra, as a complement to the existing network of municipal cultural facilities.

The municipality currently has three auditoriums in the town where the municipality is located, but there is demand for more than 250 seats at certain events, and these auditoriums have smaller capacities. The range of events on offer in the municipality's cultural agenda has also been increasing, which is why the aim is to bring together synergies to make the most of the shared use of the "Auditorium of the Seven Altars".
