

Leça da Palmeira beach hosted SOMERSBY PORTO PRO, the 2nd Stage of the MEO SURF League 2024, where the final day of competition featured good waves of between 1 and 1.5 metres.
In the men's final, Tomás Fernandes started strong, putting the pressure on Guilherme Ribeiro with his third wave worth 8.75 points and grabbing the lead from the start. The 2019 national runner-up made use of his greater experience and a critical rail surf line to win the event.
However, the 2022 champion responded with waves of 6.50 and 5.90 points, leaving the heat wide open until near the end when Tomás put the icing on the cake with the best wave of the heat with 7.25 points, closing with 16.00 points against his opponent's 12.40 points.
