In the house of the Egyptians - father and son - fish is too serious a matter.

That's why meat has no place there. It all began in 1959 with grandmother Natalina, who built a tavern there, a popular stop for seafarers who would bring back some of the fish from the day's work to roast.

The fashion has caught on and today this is one of the town's musts. Sardines, snapper, sea bass, turbot, bream or cuttlefish, "whatever comes out of the sea," says Egídio Jorge, his son. Don't forget to try the pataniscas.
